Samico debuts "Coração" in partnership with Bárbara Eugênia


"I merely wrote another song to tame my killing loneliness". It is starting from the idea of ​​inner healing that the singer and composer from Pernambuco, Samico, debuts "Coração", a new single in partnership with the born in Rio/living in São Paulo, Bárbara Eugênia, which lands on the streaming platforms on January 15, 2021.

Coração - portuguese for Heart - is an autobiography, which portrays a moment of deep diving and self-rescue by the artist. "Every time I played it, a wound healed," Samico explained about his creative process. The single announces a new aesthetic, one that is closer to the rhythms and influences of Brazilian popular music, exposing its poetic and minimalist essence.

Produced by Luccas Maia, the single stands out for the fusion of Samico's and Bárbara’s voices, who let themselves be guided by the minimalist and accurate melody of the guitar, which is the true protagonist of this song, accompanied by subtle beats. "After the song was almost ready, I felt the need to add a voice that was both sweet and striking and Bárbara's timbre and flow fit very naturally, as well as her energy", added Samico.

The moment of pandemic and social distance was a factor that contributed to the production of this track, since the internet has broken down physical boundaries. Although the artists have never met in person, it was possible to create and interact through energetic connections as well. "I received Samico's invitation through a friend and when I heard the song I found it delicious, I identified myself and instantly connected with it and so the creative process was easy", said Bárbara.

Coração gets an audiovisual treatment inspired by Eurythmy, an art of movement that seeks to make visible, the beats, rhythms, melodies and musical harmonies through body expression. The concept was created by eurythmist Raíssa Sarmento, who tells the story of "Coração" through her body. Tágory Nascimento is the photography director and editor of the video clip.
